Today is our first friendly game and it is away. I didnt know what to expect, we had to show up at the gym at 2:45, tres menos cuarto. Thank God for Miriam cuz nobody told me what "tres menos cuarto" meant. Would you know what time that was if someone said show up somewhere at tres menos cuarto? I bet not! Well anyways, so Miriam told me this morning. So before I had to show up at the gym i went to the cafe that is right next to the gym. Mind you, there are no fast food places in Lugo, no Mickey D's, Wendy's, Burger King, nothin. If you ever been to New York or Baltimore its kind of like that, a food place on every corner, you can sit down or have it para llevar, "to go". But most people sit down and if you sit down you get extra food for free! What they call tapas! I like getting extra food for free, who wouldnt!? But let me tell you, me and my american friend, Eric (he plays on the men's team here) we went to this one cerveceria, I guess that is cafeteria in spanish, i dont know but you can find cerverceria and another title on most food places. So anyways we went to this one cerveceria and the server was giving everybody else the free tapas and passin us up. He mustve thought we didnt know about that free tapas stuff cuz he didnt offer us any. We were mad.
But today, at the cafe i went to, i got some free food. I guess you are only supposed to take one of whatever is on the plate even though they offer you this huge platter with alot of selections.
Well the bus we are on is nice. I thought we were going be riding on a small van but thank God its a big 55 passenger bus, the kind we rode on at UK:). At least that is something a lil bit normal. I dont know if we'll be riding on this kind the whole year, so i wont get my hopes up. I never know what to expect and everyday is an adventure.
Let me tell you, this morning we had weights. It was pretty much the same as last week. We do like circuit training. Its not like the weightlifting we did at UK at all. Its much easier and I dont know if i am getting stronger or what. But hey i can appreciate some easy weightlifting cuz I used to bust my butt at UK so maybe now its time for me to enjoy this easy weightlifting. So after weights was over, our trainer, what they call entrenador, was yapping off the mouth in Spanish, for like a good five minutes just talking, womp womp wa womp womp womp ya ya ya wa womp womp womp, and i was just looking at him giving him my undivided attention but i didnt understand one word he said. And one of my teammates named Miri, looked at me like, i wonder does she understand him?? Well i didnt! but i just looked at him like i did! After he got done yappin Miriam told me, "he just said that we must take care of our injuries cuz some people didnt do the excercises he wanted us to do." Short and sweet. But what i wonder is how she got everything he said in five minutes down into one sentence????.....amazing! lol
Ok well thats all for now, ill tell you about the friendly game later. Hope we win! Well see.
Thank you for stepping into the Erod Experience.
